Insurance Co. Reduces Printing Costs While Giving IT & Finance Full Control

  • Client: Established in 1954, Eagan Insurance Agency is one of the oldest, locally owned, independent insurance agencies in the New Orleans area. Inside its 5 locations, Eagan offers a comprehensive commercial property and casualty department, a vital personal lines division with a unit specializing in the affluent client, and an employee benefits arena.
  • Situation: Being an insurance agency, Eagan prints many documents using a myriad of copiers and printers. Previously, their copiers were leased monthly from a local copying company that had bundled the lease and support at a per-page price. The costs for the consumables of the printers were not directly captured anywhere and were covered by office funds.
  • Solution: A complete assessment of all printing devices over a period of one month was conducted to capture the true page count of both color and black and white machines. Based on actual numbers, true costs for Eagan were calculated. IT then determined that Xerox’s Page Pack solution could replace all aging machines and lease the equipment at up to 30% less than the current cost — all while providing better service.
  • Benefit: The overall amount of Eagan’s printing costs was reduced by 26%. Aging machines were replaced by state of the art equipment. Workflows were introduced that eliminated unnecessary printing, and documents were able to be directly emailed, when needed, directly from the machines. Microsoft Certified Drivers were installed, cutting down on IT’s time to fix printer issues.
